Sixth Global NHA symposium
Beijing, China; 09-10th July 2009
The Sixth Global NHA symposium was a two-day workshop, hosted by the China Health Economics Institute (CHEI), with the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program included training and information sessions regarding the methods and latest developments in NHA, as well as its applications to policy and decision-making. A major focus of the Beijing event was an open consultation, led by WHO, OECD and Eurostat, with symposium participants on the latest proposals for revision of the System of Health Accounts (SHA 2) standard for NHA.   >>More

The second WHO regional consultation meeting on the revision of the System of Health Accounts (SHA) manual
Seoul, Korea; 6-8th May 2009
The second WHO regional consultation meeting on the revision of the System of Health Accounts (SHA) manual, took place in Seoul, Korea, from May 6-8, 2009. This meeting was hosted by the OECD Korea Policy Centre in cooperation with the WHO. The consultation aimed to contribute to the global process of revision of the SHA manual. The meeting provided a platform for the countries in the Asian region with experience in the implementation of a health accounting system with the opportunity to contribute to the development of this new global standard.

APNHAN shared the experience of SHA data collection and methodological issues with representatives of OECD countries, non OECD EU countries and regional networks at this annual OECD meeting of health accounts experts.

Ellison Institute Consultation on National Health Accounts and Resource Flows
Alexandria, VA, U.S.A.; 21-22 July 2005
Two network representatives, Dr. Ravi P. Rannan-Eliya (Sri Lanka) and Dr. Viroj Tangcharoensathien (Thailand) participated in a two-day consultation, held in Alexandria, Virginia, USA, organized by the Ellison Institute for World Health to plan its agenda and work in the area of health accounts. They presented on the network’s activities and agenda, as well as institutionalization experience in Thailand, and highlighted the importance of support for regional collaboration in health accounts.

iHEA Fifth World Congress
Barcelona, Spain; 10-13 July 2005.
The network’s Equitap project organized two sessions at the iHEA conference at which results of the project were presented and discussed. In addition, several network members made individual presentations of their work at the conference.

6th Meeting of OECD Health Accounts Experts and Correspondents for Health Expenditure Data
Paris, France; 30 September – 1 October 2004
As in previous years, APNHAN shared the regional experience with SHA implementation at this annual meeting of OECD health accounts experts. Selected methodological topics were discussed, and participants also reviewed OECD plans for revising the SHA in future years.
