of Current Accounting Practice
Progress reports on international activities to develop guidelines
for uniform SHA implementation in member countries and for comparative
analysis of current accounting practice:

and overview of current EU sponsored SHA related projects (presentation
by Gunter Bruckner, Eurostat).
- EU sponsored United
Kingdom ONS project on SHA implementation guidelines (presentation
by Phillip Lee, United Kingdom).
- Status of WHO/World
Bank/USAID Producers Guidelines to Health Accounts (presentation

Presentation and discussion of member countries’ experience with
main data sources and estimation methods to separate expenditure
by function within the hospital sector. Presentation of country
cases: Australia, Canada, Hungary
7. Harmonisation of National and OECD SHA Functional Classification
Presentation and discussion of member countries’ experience with
mapping national to international classifications and joint reporting
according to both frameworks. Presentation of country cases: Germany,
Netherlands
Oral presentation by the Secretariat on current state of work
on LTC expenditure and financing data to support the Core Study
on Long-Term Care of the OECD Health Project.
Presentation and discussion of member countries’ experience with
data sources and estimation methods of expenditure on long-term
care. Presentation of country cases: Japan,
Sweden, Switzerland, United
Kingdom.
9. Estimating Boundaries Between Public Health, Personal Health
and Health Related Functions
Presentation and discussion of member countries’ experience with
data sources and estimation methods to determine overall boundaries,
the separation between functions of public health, personal health,
and health related functions. Presentation of country cases: Denmark,
Finland, Poland.
Oral presentation by the Secretariat on the current state of data
reporting to Part 4 and 5 of OECD Health Data 2002 and its links
with the SHA framework. This will be followed by a general discussion
on how best to manage the transition in OECD Health Data from
the existing reporting to SHA accounts.
11. Estimating Private Expenditure
Presentation and discussion of member countries’ experience with
estimating private expenditure. Presentation of country cases:
Spain
Oral presentation by the Secretariat on the current state of capital
formation in health accounts; and the data requirements and potential
sources and estimation methods for improved capital data in the
SHA framework.
13. Miscellaneous Issues of SHA Implementation
Regional accounts: presentation by Mexico Information from countries
who have recently started or are planning to start the implementation
of SHA.
